Personal Education on demand

Private Education- You, me, and a custom curriculum built just for you.

These offerings take you from 0-100 with a one to one ratio of student to teacher learning. Book a stay at any of Cle Elum’s hotels or vacation rentals and spend each day on water in a floating classroom. Lectures and workshops are held exclusively on the river with all-day practice and application.

Here’s what’s included:

  • Comprehensive workbook to complete your workshops and help guide your note taking

  • Troubleshooting checklists and flow charts for on river strategies

  • Equipment and classroom materials

  • Unique and vibrant fly fishing education developed and delivered using scientifically proved teaching methods.

  • Please note that meals are not included, but that a grocery store is conveniently located in the same plaza as the shuttle drop off and recommended hotel (read below).

Getting Here is Easy:

This floating classroom is located in Cle Elum Washington, approximately 90 minutes from Seattle. The average flight to Seattle is $275, and there is a shuttle that takes students from the airport straight to Cle Elum to save money on a rental car!

Students who take the shuttle are asked to please lodge at the Snowcap Lodge (Best Western) located directly across from the shuttle drop-off. I will personally pick you up and drive you to and from the river! Students who elect to rent a vehicle have the pick of camping, hotels, or luxury vacation rentals throughout the area.

Investment:

You may book these as a solo experience or split the costs with a friend. Each day includes 8 hours of on-water education. You may book up to 6 days total. The following pricing structure is for the standard 1-3 day experience. Please inquire for pricing and education structure on 4-6 day learning experiences.

  • One day solo student $800 | 2 Students ($400 per person)

  • Two day solo student $1,600 | 2 Students ($800 per person)

  • Three days solo student $2,400 | 2 Students ($1,200 per person)

How Many Days Should I Book?

The number of days you book can be looked at in two ways.

  1. Complete beginners may wish to book 3 days or more for the greatest comprehension and retention of the education. There is a lot (I mean a lot!) that I pack into these offerings. The full comprehensive curriculum takes three days to get through. If you are an intermediate or more experienced angler hoping to fill in the gaps of your knowledge, a 1-2 day experience might be right for you.

  2. You are the captain of your learning ship! 1-3 days will satisfy 90% of the students out there! But a 4-6 day adventure may be right for you if you’d like a more saturated learning experience. These longer offerings may include multiple different river settings, on foot and on boat learning, fishing for different species or extra curricular activities like learning to tie flies or row a drift boat. We build the curriculum you want or need!

When Can I Book?

2025 is currently limited to Tuesdays and Wednesdays September-October. 2026 is currently open for on-demand, any-day-of-the-week booking!

Who’s My Instructor?

Myself (Kristen) or Nate Tamarack will be your instructors. Kristen is available as the primary instructor and is booked on a first come first serve basis. Nate is an 11 year guide veteran trained in Streamside’s science-based education. Both instructors deliver the same education using the same curriculum and having two instructors allows us to serve a larger community.
